Aisthorpe bells are now ringing at Boothby Pagnell by John R. Ketteringham
At the time St Peter’s church Aisthorpe was first being considered for redundancy in 2005 I was a member of the Redundant Churches Uses Committee for the Diocese of Lincoln and Bells Adviser to the Diocesan Furnishings Officer. A representative of the Church Commissioners was present at a Committee Meeting and I took the opportunity to ask, as these bells were never going to be rung again for service, if they could be taken into store and a new home found for them.

In former times the Hereford Journal, not unusually, copied items of interest from other newspapers. For ringing, these were usually reports of peals, and around 1800 a number of the peals rung by the Union Society of Shrewsbury were copied from the Shrewsbury papers. There were other items related to ringing that the editor of the Hereford Journal thought might be of interest to his readers, including reports of deaths of ringers from outside the area.

Church Clocks, by Hugh Rock
Marriage of Jenny Ellins and Peter Hughes
A blustery Autumn day failed to dampen spirits when Jenny Ellins and Peter Hughes were married at York on 25th October 2008.

Thought for the week
The car park at our Church Hall needs repairing and resurfacing. As it is going to cost £8,000+, we decided we’d try to raise some of the money by having a sponsored ‘event’.
