Front Cover: 2010 Twelve Bell Final, Crediton, 26th June by Howard Egglestone
The last twelve bell final to be held in Devon was at Exeter Cathedral in 1994. The installation of the brand new twelve at Holy Cross, Crediton gives the opportunity to end that 16 year wait and the Crediton team, along with Devon ringers in general, look forward to welcoming competitors, supporters and listeners to a feast of top class ringing on a top class peal of bells.

George Chaplin’s 90th birthday
George Chaplin, well-known to the older set of Birmingham ringers, celebrated his 90th birthday recently and threw a Sunday afternoon party at his retirement home in Handsworth Wood. In addition to his family, his fellow residents, members of his whist circle and several others, he also kindly invited his ringing friends. It all went with a great swing (rather belying the usual reputation of life in such establishments); there was a live band and the ringers’ contribution was to provide a couple of handbell touches to represent that aspect of George’s life.
