2013 Ringing World Subscription Rates
The RW Board is increasing subscription rates for 2013 due to the continued rise in the magazine’s operating costs. Whilst we have taken drastic action to reduce staff levels and are bearing down on other controllable costs, there are still many overheads which are not under our direct control and which continue to increase. In particular, Royal Mail postage rates have risen substantially. Because the Post Office left it rather late to announce substantial price increases last year, we had not planned for such a large cost increase when we set our 2012 subscription rates.
Overseas postal rates have increased even faster than domestic rates, and our overseas subscription prices currently do not even cover the cost of posting The Ringing World abroad. As a result we are compelled to make substantial increases to our overseas rates. This will still not cover the full cost and we are likely to have to review overseas rates again in the near future.
We are not, however, increasing rates for Online-only Subscriptions which do not incur printing or postage costs. Whilst many people prefer to read The Ringing World in print, the on-line version may enable some of our customers to continue to receive the publication who might otherwise find it too expensive. We would encourage you please to consider an online-only subscription if you find yourself in this position.
We wish to reassure all our readers that we will continue to work hard to contain operating costs and to keep the increase in subscription rates as low as possible in the future.
